About Alabaster Residents Directory

Alabaster no longer has one printed volume naming every resident. Directory evidence is divided among the county parcel roll, election records, recorded deeds, court files, and historical collections. This private reference brings those routes together so a name, street, or past address can be matched with the office or archive most likely to hold the answer.

Why This Reference Exists

Older Alabaster directories survive, but current resident clues are spread across separate systems. Shelby County maintains parcels and recorded instruments. Alabama law controls access to voter information and public writings. Scott Library, the Shelby County Historical Society, the Alabama Department of Archives and History, and the Library of Congress preserve historical sources. We organize the verified search tools, office contacts, year ranges, fees, and access limits into one Alabaster reference.

What Is Included

  • Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
  • Record keepers: Shelby County Probate Recording, the Property Tax Commissioner, registrars, court clerks, vital records, and local archives
  • Practical methods: tracing a street, reading an old listing, and following one address through time
  • Access limits: what Alabama law makes available, what remains restricted, and how to request an offline Alabaster record

What We Cannot Provide

This is a privately run reference site. It is not connected with the City of Alabaster, Shelby County, the State of Alabama, a court, or a library. Those boundaries mean:

  • We cannot confirm whether a specific person currently lives in Alabaster
  • We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
  • We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
  • We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
  • We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment

Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
